VNDTA ART POP UP SHOP at ARTFONFA

VNDTA ART POP UP SHOP at ARTFONFA

We had a lot of fun popping up, displaying our art, and most importantly connecting with new people at the @artfonfa.events art show.

Even though the loading/unloading can be a lot of work, It is very important to get out there and introduce yourself and your work to new eyes. Plus, it’s inspiring to be around other artists and vendors! As a small business and struggling artists, this is part of the journey when building a dream. Don’t stay home, get out there and put in work.
Thank you to everyone that showed love and support.

V for Vendetta by Erick Aguinaldo (Poem)

V for Vendetta by Erick Aguinaldo (Poem)

Sometimes we wondered if our brand inspires people. Sometimes we wondered if our stories, that is shown through our designs, can be seen or heard. This is a video that was sent to us by Erick Aguinaldo of his untitled poem. It really described how we feel, who we are, and what our mission is. We liked it so much that I just had to share it.

And the V is for Vendetta
Catch me in an Anarchist’s uniform
Topped off by a Black beretta.

Eating tortas, as I spit on your
bruschetta. A glock in my right hand
and In my left I hold poinsettias
because there is beauty In our pain,
      sunshine behind the rain.

There is blood, but also love
that is flowing through our veins.
      We’re armed with weapons
and our brains. Dreams of Freedom,
and memories of our brothers, sisters
slain. We fight for them We fight for us,

so their deaths are not in vain.

A Story to be told - Art by King Kast

A Story to be told - Art by King Kast

Our product designs are not just shirts to us, but a story, a message, an art installment. It is a way of expressing how we feel. Hoping to inspire others along the way.

We I saw this illustration/video made by Kast, it really got me emotional that I needed to share his hard work and talent.

I hope you like it as much as we do.

Ran over our friend with a car

Ran over our friend with a car

Yes, we ran over our friend with a car multiple times. It was for a music video project tho. I bet you guys were thinking 'What kind of psychotic shit am I reading?!"

From time to time we love making music videos. Our long time friend rap artist Mikeygotbands came to us with a song and a concept that we thought it would be really fun to shoot.

It was a long month process and the opening scene where he gets ran over was shot in two different locations. At the first location, Mike looked at it and said "I can do better. I want the car go faster." So we went on and set up and different day, different location.

This shot was very nerve wrecking. Any miscalculation could had cost serious injury. All I can say, Mikeygotbands is a savage and a true artist that's willing to invest his body and soul for the right shot.

Shoes On A Wire. What does it mean?

Shoes On A Wire. What does it mean?

As time passes by, we see a lot of things that are part of the culture fade away. Gentrification has done a number in these neighborhoods. A lot of what made the characteristics of the hood are now disappearing, one of them being the shoes hanging from a power line.

I’ve heard many theories as to what they meant. Gang territory, drug dealer nearby, murder location. I personally don’t know if any of these are true. Where I grew up was in gang territory and because of that there were drug dealers around and for the same reason I’m sure there were some murders around the way. So, I always saw them. But I Think people just threw them just to do It too.

Shoes hanging by a wire have been part of my culture and my environment. It was only right for me to make them into air fresheners.  Whatever their meaning might be to you, it means my culture and it was important for me to make this to keep pieces of our culture alive. The fact that its an air freshener is just a giant plus.
